Before importing into the United States, importers as well as exporters should know if their products are subject to Detention Without Physical Examination (DWPE)

FDA Detention

If you are unable to overcome the appearance of a violation, your products will be refused admission, and you can work with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as well as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) to destroy the products or export it from the U.S within 90 days of the refusal.

We expect you to provide the following with your payment:

  • Full company name, complete physical address (street, city, state, postal code, country)
  • Company DUNS Number
  • FDA Registration Number (When available)
  • Copy of the email you received from the U.S. Customs, the FDA, or your Customs Broker (FedEx, UPS, DHL)
  • Products details as well as FedEx, UPS or DHL Air Waybill and tracking number

U.S. Agent Service included.

When products in your shipment violate or appear to violate the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) laws and regulations, FDA may detain these products and issue a Notice of FDA Action. As a result, FDA Detention Assistance could be essential.
